1:1 Emotional Regulation Tools for Children & Teenagers, Ages 8-16

Own Your Emotions: The Child & Teen Toolkit

When your child is overwhelmed by big emotions, it’s heartbreaking to watch, and exhausting trying to figure out how to help them find their way back to calm.

This is where I come in.

Drawing on my background in Child and Adolescent Mental Health (CAMHS) and systemic practice, I work 1:1 with children and teenagers to help them understand how they’re wired, and build their own way back to calm. We don’t just talk about feelings. We look at what’s actually happening in their bodies, and build practical strategies that work in real life: at school, at home, and out with friends.

The 4 Session Programme

Session 1: How Your System Works (How the Brain Reacts)

Children often think they're “being bad,” or that something is broken inside them when they lose control. In this session, your child learns how their brain and body respond to stress, and realises their big reactions are just normal wiring, not a fault. It's a huge relief. The shame and frustration that usually follows an outburst starts to lift.

Session 2: Reading the Signals (Catching the Build-Up)

Instead of being caught off guard by a sudden explosion of anger or tears, your child learns to read their own early signals. We map out what happens for them physically in the lead-up, so they can tell the difference between a small wobble and a bigger struggle, and gain the confidence to pause before things escalate.

Session 3: Setting Things Up (Building Your Toolkit)

Every young person is different, so we co-create a set of tools that fits seamlessly into their daily life. Your child learns practical, discreet ways to calm their body and mind, that they feel comfortable using at school or around friends, no unwanted attention required.

Session 4: Their Own Guide (Bringing It All Together)

Your child finishes the programme feeling proud, independent, and in control of their progress. We bring everything together into a personalised, visual guide based on things they actually love: a manual that's entirely theirs. They leave feeling capable and backed up, with a practical way to let you know exactly when they need a bit of extra support from you.

A Note for Parents

You don't have to choose between your wellbeing and your child's. While I work with your child on their toolkit, some parents also want a space of their own to process what's going on at home. If that's you, my Overwhelm Audit is a good place to start: no pressure, no sales pitch, just somewhere to be heard.

Q&A

Is this therapy?

No. It's practical, coaching-style support, drawing on my clinical background in CAMHS. If your child needs a different kind of support, I'll tell you directly and point you the right way.

Will I be involved?

Yes. Session 4 turns what your child has learned into something you can both use at home.

What if my child doesn't want to talk about their feelings?

That's fine; we start with the body, not with making them explain how they feel.

How do I book?

Book now and I'll be in touch to confirm.
